![]() Ron DeSantis (R) took a not-particularly-subtle shot at former President Donald Trump on Monday ahead of Trump’s likely indictment, saying he personally would not know how to pay “hush money” to a “porn star” ― prompting Trump to fire back with a reminder of allegations that DeSantis drank with underage girls when he taught a boarding school in Georgia. After all, the Lotus showed up directly afterwards, and the frame somehow knew to break the War to fight off Hunhow, showing intricate knowledge of the workings of the Sentient.Florida Gov. An alternative explanation I prefer is that it was actually Natah that possessed the frame to kill Hunhow. What happened in the Second Dream is very unlikely to have been Warframe sentience. Warframes are more like a coat the operator wears than a living being. The exception to this rule is Excalibur Umbra, which is a replication of an actual living being that was turned into a Warframe, which is why it is sentient. Ordinary Warframes are NOT sentient, and those we craft are puppets. Warframes are infested material shaped according to Orokin designs to allow void power to be channeled into various other forms. We can't even answer simple questions after all these years. So are warframes sentient being or not? Does our foundry actually make a warframe with its complete memory and sentience? Then they are actually mutated human and actually our foundry manufactures warframes with their sentience and memory (TS). ![]() Then we are actually children and warframes are actually a remote controlled something (TSD).Īnd then we found out warframe actually have sentience and can move on their own (TSD). And if it doesn't, keep in mind you can also coming up with a different interpretation that satisfies you.Īll the fuss happen because warframe's lore is still unclear after these many years.Īt first warframe were just some bio-exo-armors manufactured by our foundry (Rhino Prime codex). I hope this helps some of the people feeling conflicted out there. And the same is true for Steve saying "she's getting some rest" and "she'll find new life within the belly of the beast" when referring to a subsumed warframe. Maybe he was just trying to make it funny but I think the joke was only a part of it. The fact that DE chose to call it "subsume" (absorb) instead of something like "sacrifice" (kill) seems significant. Lastly, I think it's also relevant to point out a few other things. Maybe infested are also like that, although at a different scale. Human beings can be seen as just a single massive organism composed of many individual beings. What if the Helminth isn't doing any eating, killing or even harming? What if all the Helminth does is to absorb the warframe, separate the organic matter from the inorganic stuff, and give it a new home? It's still a big dramatic event sure, but maybe not so much different from a person who moves to a different country and gets 'absorbed' by a new culture. You put all this ridiculous crap on top of their heads, arms and legs, paint their bodies in weird colors and even force them to do weird dances! The horror!!īut back to my point it's not exactly the perfect life is it? Then again, getting eaten by the Helminth also doesn't sound great. They get shot, stabbed, burned, exploded, frozen and occasionally even taken out by the not-so-uncommon irradiated ally. But have you considered the kind of life your warframe has to live because of you? (well, your tenno mostly) You basically take over their bodies and force them to fight battles for you over and over again. You would think getting absorbed by the Helminth is bad for the warframe. It means they follow different rules and that what seems to be "good" for a human might not be "good" for an infested. That doesn't mean they are empty, dead or irrelevant. Maybe it was a human/orokin back at some point but that's no longer the case. The first important thing we need to remember is that a warframe is not a human. How did it come to this? Did your operator really forget who ended up saving his/her hide back in the Second Dream quest? Is your little tenno really that much of a bastard? Well, maybe that is the case. So watching the Helminth slowly absorb one definitely feels like your operator is sacrificing another living being for personal gain. Sentient or not, we know warframes are alive. Also, THERE WILL BE STORY SPOILERS and minor attempts at humor. Some of it is based on Warframe lore, but some of it comes from my own interpretation of how things work, so keep that in mind. ![]() This post is meant to offer an alternative view to the subsuming process for people who don't feel 100% comfortable with sacrificing warframes for personal gain.
